Distant Star is an old-school 4x (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate) space game, similar to Master of Orion or Sword of the Stars. Build up your fleet and conquer the galaxy -- will your empire be an economic powerhouse, a technological wonder, or a military superpower? Or all three?
A small balance update, including:
+ Expanded tech trees for the Industry, Ecology, and Economics branches
+ Limited colonisation -- at the start of a game you can now only colonise Idyllic and Habitable worlds. Research in the Ecology track to expand onto more hostile planets!
+ Rebalanced research costs -- most research now takes slightly longer, making for more interesting choices in how you develop your empire.
+ Building banks is now a viable way to generate wealth, especially when coupled with research in the Economics branch.
